Information Resource Center:

The UITS prioritizes information services through different resource centers. These centers/units are: i) library ii) documentation iii) publication iv) audio-visual v) reprography and vi) archive.

A start up library with collection covering a wide range of interest besides reserved shelves of text- books and recommended reading. The library has corporate membership with the British Council Dhaka and users of the resource center/library can use the resource facilities of the British Council free of charge. The library will soon have the facility to access major libraries in the country who have similar facilities. The University will soon establish an electronic library with opportunities to enter into different digital full text databases worldwide.

Laboratories:

Computer Lab :

A computer laboratory fitted with latest configurations Pentium 4 with broadband 32-64 KBPS dedicated internet connection. It is fully equipped to serve the needs of the technologies related to switching, transmission, broadband network and data services. It also contains subscriber terminals, instrumentation for measurement and other support equipment.

Digital Lab:

A Physics and Electronic laboratory.

Common Room:

A Common room for recreational and club type activities.

Cafeteria:

A Canteen where soft drinks and snacks are available

Language center :

The University has a language center which provides English language teaching from basic to advance level. The cluster courses are compatible with English language programs offered by the British Council and the Cambridge Board. The center has plans to introduce teaching of French and other languages.

There is an English Language Club associated with the Language Center with books and audio-video facilities. Membership is free for UITS students.

Cyber Club :

There is also a Cyber Club for the students to access information through the internet service for relevant job application, subject-wise information, networking with individuals, institutions and other relevant needs.

Center for Development Research and Technology Solution:

The center functions as a think tank on industrial development policy at the same time a database and research unit concerned with technology shift and changes in the global employment market.

The database will provide information on technology shifts and changes so that the UITS curriculum and syllabi can be periodically adjusted to those changes.

As a forum, the Center conducts research and hold seminars and workshops on trade and industrial policy and provide guidelines on the development of human resource. The center shall also help in developing strategies to assess the “total performance” of UITS (i.e. students, faculty and the staff).

UITS Career Advisory Service:

Students are encouraged to discuss ideas with their advisers to help focus on the future career options and employment opportunities. The earlier a student makes use of this service, the sooner his/her career aims will be achieved.

Each year, leaders of industry, commerce, social sciences and environmental development will be invited to a job-forum organized by the UITS to recruit final years students.
