Status and involvement 

A full time student is expected to take between 12 and 18 credits course load. As about a third of the credits are required to be earned in laboratory/project and practice sessions,  the actual academic engagement would run closer to 24 hours a week.  However, a load of 18 credit would be regarded as full time equivalent (fte).  A full time student is expected to be engaged for about 9 to 12 hours a day or approximately 45 to 60 hours a 5-day week.  By prior management students shall have access to all academic facilities every day of the week.

Code of conduct 

With the application for admission every student must sign a Code of Honor requiring him/her to uphold certain code of conduct to ensure a positive community atmosphere and collegial relationship amongst all.  Students are expected to adhere to policies and requirements of the University of Information  Technology and Sciences (UITS) and to abide by all applicable rules and regulations, including the Code of Conduct.

Physical and mental well-being 

There are services of a doctor/consultant available on call and by appointment to all students.  The students also have access to specialist consultation/ counseling in the area of mental well-being.  Emergency medicare is available through a trained nurse on the premises.

Recreation and cultural program 

Proper arrangements has been made to make the students’ stay at the University both productive and enjoyable.  There are facilities for indoor games.  Arrangement will be made for outdoor sports as well.  Students are encouraged to organize different creative skills and group projects/professional clubs, community services and cultural activities. 

The University holds periodic Assemblies where all students are required to attend.  The Assembly is addressed by eminent scholars, scientists, businessmen, industrialists and social workers.  At the end of every semester a Guest Night is held where teachers, students and staff will meet. Eminent personalities are invited to deliver speeches in current affairs  on any topic of importance.  A mid-semester teacher-student assembly is arranged to promote better teacher-student relationship.

Academic counseling 

There are faculties for academic counseling throughout the entire period of the student’s life at the University.  At the time of admission each student is assigned an adviser who may continue through the second year.  The adviser signs the student’s course card at the admission and for any drop/add/change of courses. Students have the option to drop and add courses within two weeks of the beginning of the semester.  The adviser counsels, supervises and monitors the students’ performance.  Students deficient in any course is given proper attention through remedial courses. From the second year the student chooses his/her adviser from the major field of study and branch of specialization.

Student life on campus 

There is one Students’ Affairs Committee headed by the Dean of Students’ Affairs which will deal with all matters relating to students’ corporate life while at the University.  The students have organized an association of their own to look after their welfare where at the university and organize events and activities. This body may make recommendation to the Students’ Affairs Committee.
